Bank Occupation in Defense of Katie Mitchell's Home -- ACCE & Occupy Oakland
Foreclosure and eviction defense action by Occupy Oakland & ACCE (Alliance of Californians for Community Empowerment). Feb 21, 2012. Homeowner Katie Mitchell is trying to get her loan modified by Union Bank--which purchased the loan from Chase. Until this action, she has had no success. Those participating gathered at Snow Park; Mitchell and her family entered the bank a few minutes before the larger group arrives.
